April Langford founded Ovation Revenue Cycle Services in January 2012. Since then, she has provided leadership for Ovation Revenue Cycle Services, a provider-proven, results-driven organization.
April’s diverse background as a healthcare professional provides a wealth of experience to Ovation Revenue Cycle Services. While at UPMC, she directed both hospital and corporate level divisions, including Revenue Cycle, Quality and Medical Management, Clinical Case Management, Clinical Business Analysis, and Physician Services Recruitment and Office of Physician Relations. Currently, April holds dual roles within UPMC as both the CEO of Ovation Revenue Cycle Services and a Vice President of Finance, Revenue Cycle Innovation.
April graduated from Washington and Jefferson College with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Accounting. She has since been certified as a public accountant (CPA) and holds an MBA from University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Business. She is also a Six Sigma Black Belt.
Chief Operations Officer
Donna Balcik is Chief Operating Officer of Ovation Revenue Cycle Services, where she shares oversight of the company with members of the executive team and Chief Executive Officer, April Langford.
Donna Balcik became VP of Operations in January 2014 and is in charge of the day-to-day operations of Ovation’s IT team. Because Ovation provides transaction services and HIM medical coding support to businesses and hospitals throughout the country, this is a substantial responsibility. Donna also provides oversight to our coding client management team
Prior to joining Ovation RCS, Donna worked for UPMC for 20 years, during which she held a variety of management roles. The majority of those positions involved the health system’s IT infrastructure and systems support; however, she also assisted with hospital billing, training, and reimbursement.
Donna has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Economics and Mathematics and also has a Master’s of Business Administration from University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Business.
Chief Client Officer
Jackie Burtnett is the Chief Client Officer of Ovation Revenue Cycle Services. Jackie handles client relations for numerous healthcare technology and outsource companies that Ovation provides transaction services to, as well as to the hospitals, physicians, and insurance companies that utilize Ovation for medical coding services. Jackie also manages all marketing activity for Ovation. She jointly works for UPMC as a Manager of Revenue Cycle Innovation.
Jackie began her career within the UPMC revenue cycle department, working there for six years before joining the Ovation RCS team. Moving from a role in the credit balance department to a management rotation, Jackie has held various positions in departments that include collections, A/R follow-up, and billing, as well as performed system-wide unbilled and credit balance reporting and resolution.
Jackie has a Bachelor of Arts degree from The Pennsylvania State University in Communications and Psychology. She also has a Master’s of Business Administration from Carlow University in Pittsburgh, PA.
Senior Business Analyst
Joe Conaway is a Senior Business Analyst at Ovation Revenue Cycle Services. He prepares monthly financial reporting/projections and completes a daily analysis of client operations.
Ovation provides transaction services and HIM medical coding support to physician practices and hospitals throughout the country. Joe is responsible for financial reporting and projections, as well as the daily evaluation of client operations volumes and quality analysis. Joe Conaway joined Ovation in August 2015. Prior to joining Ovation RCS, Joe worked for UPMC for six years where he held a variety of management roles, mainly involving self-pay collections and financial assistance.
Joe has a Bachelor of Science degree from Marshall University in Business Administration.
Senior VP of Sales
Michael joins Ovation Revenue Cycle Services as an experienced Senior Executive leader and strategist with over 20 years in healthcare. During his 20+ year career in healthcare IT, Michael has led go-to-market strategies for almost every conceivable clinical and revenue cycle platform. His in-depth understanding of the dynamic healthcare market combined with his experience with complex strategic planning, sales, marketing, account management, and sales operations, will greatly benefit OvationRCS’ loyal customer base.
Michael has successfully led both large Fortune 100 commercial organizations and small startups through multiple acquisition strategies, requiring organizational and operational assimilation while achieving aggressive financial targets.

Michael holds a Green Belt in Six Sigma and received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Marketing, and Management from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
